Hello everyone,

December has been a busy month, we have been baking up a Christmas storm :) but as you all probably know, we love Christmas here at Mimi's. Here is a selection of some of the Christmas themed cupcakes we have done

Mince Pies were also a firm favourite, we did a delicous spin on mince pies, in the form of a mince meat slice, which was very yummy!

I made my very first gingerbread house this year, and was pretty chuffed with the outcome. We got a record amount of feedback on Facebook and Twitter, with people commenting from as far away as China. I really enjoyed making it and I am now aiming to do a bigger and more complicated one next year, watch this space...

 At the beginning of the month me and Mummy Mimi did a cupcake demonstration at Martin Wishart's Cook school in Edinburgh, which we both really enjoyed. We demonstrated 3 different recipes and showed lots of different Christmas icing techniques, which was really good fun. Hope everyone who came enjoyed it.

We hosted a few Christmas nights at Mimi's this year which went down really well. Thanks for all those who came & gave us such great feedback. Our Christmas themed afternoon teas also went down a treat this year. 

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. My sister Ashley was back from Dubai so we all had a lovely time. It was great having her home, she helped me out in the bakery for a 

few days. Baking is definitely in her blood!

We also took part in The Christmas Foodie festival this month which was great. We met lots of lovely people and we were able to promote Mimi's to another part of town.

 I hope everyone has a great 2013, It is going to be a very exciting year here at Mimi's, with both Natalie and me organsing our weddings! and there is something exciting in the pipe line for Mimi's Bakehouse :)

Hello everyone, Have use noticed we have transformed our blog skin? Thanks to Emily at Eskimo designs, one of our fabulous designers. Well the weather is getting colder as winter is approaching my favorite time of year.

Did everyone have a good Halloween, here at Mimi’s we made some spooky cakes, including our spider’s web empire biscuits, red velvet ghost cupcakes, along with our carrot & pumpkin cake & of course the gruesome scream egg cupcakes & brownie, which all went down very well! Hope everyone had a fun filled Halloween. 

So my Mum ( aka Mimi ) & Dad are in Dubai visiting my sister Ashley at the moment, Me & my sister Natalie & fiancee Scott are in charge of the ship for 10 days!  My sister Ash was treating them today, they are starting off with a yacht party with champagne, which will take them to the grand Prix, and then later they will get to see Nickel Back, sounds like bliss to me. 

So as you all know Christmas is fast approaching us, we are still taking bookings for our Christmas meal , get yourselves booked in, The dates are Fri 14^th, Sat 15^th Sun 16th, Fri 21^st & Sat 22^nd December, all bookings can be taken on these evening between 5pm – 9pm.

We also have our little Xmas shop which you can purchase some gifts, we have delicious syrups, chocolates, mulled wine pouches & much more, great stocking fillers or gifts! Come check it out. Don’t forget we also sell gift vouchers which is also a great Xmas gift idea. 

I have been experimenting this month – I am attempting my first ever gingerbread house, which is very exciting. I felt like an architect when creating the walls & roof, hehe! I still have to build my house, but will do so soon & reveal it to you all, eeeek!

OUR NEW WINTER MENU HAS STARTED! Featuring our new Gastro Dog, Homemade stovies & The Panang chicken filling is back! We have kept everyone's favourites on Coconut Crispy Chicken, Steak sandwich, Fish cakes & Savoury tart & of course French Toast! We will be doing our lovely wholesome hot pots every weekend too served with our award winning bread.
